    Applications are reviewed weekly and on a first-come first-served weekly basis: applying early is therefore recommended for greater chances to participate. Applicants will receive regular email updates from submission to final decision (please allow for one week from the day your application is received).

  • Enrollment is limited to 15 participants. Participants from all education backgrounds and at all stages of their photographic/artistic journeys are encouraged to apply(film and digital both OK). Participants will turn in a portfolio of up to 20 photographs on the first day for review.

  • Applicants will pay full regular/early-bird registration payment through this page. If other payment options are needed such as flexible payment plans, please contact us.

    The deadline for cancellation will be July 3rd, 2026 for a refund to apply, in which case we will charge a $300 cancellation fee. Registrations beyond July 4th are accepted if slots are available, but there will be no refunds.

    In the event the program is not meeting minimum enrollment or needs to be canceled for any other reason, paid tuition will be refunded in full without any cancelation fee. Please also note that we cannot be held responsible for any unrefunded traveling expenses if the workshop is not running: purchasing travel insurance is therefore highly recommended.

  • Flights, local transportation, meals and accommodations are not included in any registration fees. However we will provide information to participants to allow you to organize your stay in Kyoto.
